Language<\/h3>\n

The Official language in Italy is\u00a0Italian<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>. English is widely used in hotels, restaurants and shops. English is understood and spoken by ordinary people to a large extent. Spanish, French and German are also spoken and understood in many hotels, restaurants and shops.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currency Information<\/h3>\n

The\u00a0Euro<\/strong>\u00a0is the currency used in Italy. Money exchanges can be made at any bank branch offices. The branches are open to the public from Monday to Friday from 08.30 to 13.30 and from\u00a015.00 to\u00a016.30. Many currency exchange shops are also present in Firenze downtown and at the airport, usually open 7\/7 days. For currency conversion rates look at\u00a0www.xe.com<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Credit Cards<\/h3>\n

Visa<\/strong>,\u00a0MasterCard<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0American Express<\/strong>\u00a0are most commonly used in Italy. Cards are used almost everywhere in hotels, restaurants, shops, museums\u2026They cannot be used to finance your transportation costs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Restaurants<\/h3>\n

Firenze and Tuscany have a very renowned cousine in Italy and worldwide. At the heart of\u00a0Florentine cookery<\/strong>\u00a0are \u00a0four fundamental ingredients:\u00a0bread\u00a0<\/em>(plain, unsalted, well-baked with a crispy crust and light and airy inside);\u00a0extra-virgin olive oil<\/em>\u00a0( the best even for frying and grilled meat);\u00a0meat<\/em>\u00a0(Florentine steaks of beef, roasted or wine-braised game, fried rabbit and chicken\u2026<\/em>);wine<\/em>\u00a0(red wines are most famous, \u201cSuper Tuscany<\/em>\u201d wines are the top ranked ones). However,\u00a0\u00a0as a result of Firenze\u2019s popularity with tourists, many restaurants offer\u00a0very mediocre food. Bus and Taxi Service<\/span><\/h3>\n

All\u00a0buses<\/strong>\u00a0for any locations in Firenze downtown stop at\u00a0Piazza della Stazione<\/em>\u00a0aside\u00a0Santa Maria Novella<\/em>\u00a0train station, within walking distance\u00a0from the Conference venue. Good bus services connect the centre of Firenze to its surroundings. Bus lines in Firenze and bus travel information\u00a0is available at\u00a0www.ataf.net<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0main\u00a0taxi station<\/strong>\u00a0in Firenze downtown is located just at the exit of at\u00a0Santa Maria Novella<\/em>\u00a0train station. Taxi can be requested by calling\u00a0\u00a0+39-055-4390 | +39-055-4499 | +39-055-4798 | +39-055-4242<\/strong>. Trip fare rules\u00a0are exposed in the taxi cab in the principal languages.
